Beading

Just thought you might be interested in what we saw when we went to Fairbridge (a month or so ago). It was in their art gallery and for sale for $250.00 - cheap really but shame there wasnt a pair or I would have snapped them up!!!!

UFO's

These are my finished UFO's for May and June. May's was the green quilt and within a week of May begining it was finished and then the slump started. June's was finished today and it took me all of June to get it ready to quilt. It was sitting on the back of the chair in my sewing room and there it stayed until I felt really bad at not finishing it. Hopefully July's will get done in time!!!

April is done

This is April done. It was the left over bits from Ryan's quilt and didn't really turn into the pinwheels I imagined but it is finished and not in my cupboard!!- Not sure what I'm going to do with it - maybe the rest home again. At least I know they appreciate it.

And this is March's finished and gone to a nursing home. They were right pleased with the two quilts - had a phone call at 7.30am the next day!!!
That is now 3 months down and 9 to go!! My cupboards will be bare by the end of the year (I can't see that actually!!)

February UFO

Week 5 beading

This is a combo piece (sounds very arty farty!!) of backstitch, attaching a cabachon (the big jewels in the middle) and the long beads. I'm hooked on beading now!!

January UFO

January UFO - quilted bound and given away. One down 11 to go!!

Week 3 beading

This week we used bugle beads - the long ones. I loved doing the flowers - each one turns out so different even though I was just changing the seed beads on the ends. I'm getting very hooked!! and my bead collection is growing just cos it can!!!

January UFO

January isn't yet over and I have finished the first UFO - a cobweb quilt top that needed to be quilted (done very basic) and bound. Ryan has claimed it but can't imagine the background will stay white for long!!!

week 2

This week was really good - doing dangly beads and stacks. Some work better than others but great trying different things out. Really enjoying the beading work.

beading

I thought I'd put my samples up from my beading class with Lisa Walton as you can't see the blog we all post to. Am getting hooked with the beads again - so much easier when you get little tips to help make it easier (and that is after the first week!) I'm going to get back into my Aurora quilt - I pulled all the beads out from the very dense seed beads bit and it looks way better (I think).

I haven't started to do my January UFO - have to find some wadding as the first one is a quilting and binding job - hopefully by the end of the year I'll have at least 12 UFO's finish but I'll probably have another 12 added to the pile! That is my goal for the year!!
